An amazingly fun hybrid game that combines 2 American footballs with a set of bowling pins positioned on 2 wooden bases 32 feet apart.

Teams of 2 compete to be the first to knock down all the opponent's pins by throwing 2 footballs at 10 regulation bowling pins positioned in a traditional bowling pin layout.  It can be played in a backyard, indoor facility, or campground.

The wood bases, 20 real bowling pins, and 2  footballs come with the rental.

(There is also a smaller 12-pin game, 6 on each side but still solid wood pins)  You can pick the set(s) up in Troy for free, or have us bring it to you for a delivery fee depending on the distance.

Regulation size set (as shown in the picture) and we have a smaller set if your space is limited or you plan on picking it up in a smaller car.  (The smaller set uses 6 regulation bowling pins and fits in cars as small as a Chevy Impala)  It's good to have an SUV, minivan, or truck for the full-size regulation set.  Ask us about our Kid's version with solid wood mini pins and beanbags for the age 8 and under gang.  Call us to easily reserve your set with cash, check, or Venmo (preferred).  Text or call Dave (number below) with ANY questions!

  • Official size 20 pin set: $75/day (Need SUV or larger)
  • Medium size 12 pin set: $65/day (Fits in pretty much any car)

Rules for Backyard Fowling:

Although you can simply make up your own rules any time, below are the official rules:

  • Best played with 4 players (2 teams of 2 players)
  • The object of game: Be the first to knock down opponents 10 pins by throwing the football.
  • Each round 2 footballs are thrown by each team (or individual if playing solo)
  • The defending team must remain behind their platforms
  • Teams stand on opposite sides
  • Each team gets the same amount of throws
  • Women throw behind the front edge of the wood base, men behind the back edge of the base
  • A coin toss can determine which team starts
  • Teams alternate throwing
  • Earn 1 point for being the first to knock down opponents 10 pins
  • The opposing team is not allowed to interfere until after ball passes the wood platform.
  • 3 points wins the match! Let someone else play (or challenge the winners)
    • Tie/Overtime - Overtime is a sudden death, single pin knockdown. Each team places a single pin on any bowling pin position marked on the fowling lane, for their opponent to throw at. Again, a simple coin toss decides which team throws first, and the first team to knock down the overtime pin wins the frame. There is no Equalizer throw for the opposing team during the overtime period.
